In the 49th convocation ceremony of Tribhuvan University, 12 thousand four hundred and 15 students who received degrees from various faculties and levels were initiated today. In a ceremony held at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar, in the presence of President Ramchandra Poudel, Prime Minister and Chancellor Pushpa Kamal Dahal initiated the students from ‘Prachanda’. Out of the 74,749 students who were included in the 61st grace list of the University, this time 12,415 applied for participation in the convocation ceremony. Among those who applied, eight thousand ninety-eight students were initiated for the bachelor’s level, four thousand one hundred four for the master’s level, 44 for the MPhil, and one hundred and twelve for the bachelor’s degree. Prada Shivlal Bhusal, Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University informed that the students who have passed from 1st June 2079 to the end of May 2080 will be able to participate in the convocation ceremony. Last year, 10,300 students participated in the convocation ceremony. He said that in a situation where there is a challenge to sustain the passed students with employment in the country, the university along with education expressed his commitment to adopt entrepreneurship.
